My heart truly loves minimalism, and Javier and Yukiko’s Loulu Palm Estate wedding is one of my favorite minimalistic weddings that I have photographed so far. Every element of their day was simple, soft and elegant, and so fun to photograph.
Javier is originally from Cancun, and Yukiko is from Japan. Not all of the wedding guests spoke English, so there was a lot of translating going on throughout the day with all of the family and friends, but everyone was so sweet and it was really interesting to see how everyone communicated with one another. Both Javier and Yukiko were a little nervous before walking down the aisle, but as soon as they saw each other they could not stop smiling and laughing! You’ll notice during the ceremony they poured water and soil in with a plant. That’s Loulu Palm’s special ceremony event where the couple gets to plant their very own Loulu Palm Tree to signify a new beginning as one. It’s a unique touch that ties into the palms at the estate and it’s one of my favorite parts of the ceremonies at this venue.
After the ceremony we headed to the beach for the couples portraits and I had so much fun with them. They are so in love and were so full of laughter the entire time. It was truly a beautiful day at this intimate Hawaii wedding, take a look below at my favorite photos from the day!
