I'm an island girl at heart even though I was raised far away from the ocean in the small town of Pilot Point, Texas, go Bearcats! As a life long lover of all things beachy, I've found my happy place living on the north shore of Oahu where I can surf in the winter, and scuba dive and freedive during the summer. I love washing down a poke bowl with a Kona Big Wave and watching the sunset from the best seat in the house: on my board in the water. I'm an island girl cliché, and I'm not mad about it!
I am passionate about adventure and I love the feeling that I can go anywhere and do anything, so naturally I am obsessed with traveling. I've been to over a dozen countries and I'm always down to pack my bags and see where life takes me!
I'm pretty easy to win over, just quote The Office, Parks and Rec or Friends to me! I've been told I'm a pretty solid mix of Leslie Knope and April Ludgate... take a moment to process that knowledge and once you realize that it makes me a certified BA, read more below to get a taste of what it's like to have me as your photographer!
A friend once told me that I'm like a "duck" because I'm calm on the surface, but my "feet are going a mile a minute under the water." I have never heard a better or more hilarious description of myself! On the outside I'm super chill, but on the inside I am bursting with ideas and we are going to work together to bring those to life. I'm going to be that cool, calm and collected energy on your wedding day or portrait session, while also working my tail off to make sure I capture all of those special moments that you are going to love (and shouting "YASSSS" when you look amazing). I know when to step in and take control, and I know when to be unobtrusive and document real moments. I don't like to over pose, but I do provide direction to ensure that we are getting natural and fun images that are flattering for you. I'm always looking for clean backdrops to get a minimalist look, and rest assured, I will go any length to get the best shot: I've rearranged entire hotel rooms to get the best getting ready scene, and I'm ready to do it again!
I love showing up to a wedding day or portrait session and giving my clients a big hug because I feel like we're already friends. I'd love to hop on a FaceTime call with you or chat on the phone so that I get to know you and your story. This way not only do we become besties, it also helps me to create an experience that you're going to love just as much as the final product.
Speaking of final product, here's a little info about my style: I love natural. From the colors to the emotions, natural always wins for me. My editing style is bright, vibrant and natural. My clients venture to amazing locations for their weddings and portraits, and I want the final product to reflect all of the beautiful colors of the scenery. I also love to have fun during the session, so be prepared to get a little silly + bonus points if you are down to get in the water at the end of our session!
If my style is what you have been looking for and you think I'm a great fit, I would love to hear from you! I've made it super easy to get in touch, just fill out the form here and I will get back to you as soon as I finish my happy dance after reading your email!
I equally love island hops and long trips! I've been to all the accessible Hawaiian Islands, so feel free to ask me for recommendations on any island. It has become tradition for me to travel during the holidays and all the way through January so I can get my winter fix in, go snowboarding, and see my friends and family back home. A couple of my fav places I've ever been: Japan and Ecuador!
You may recognize Efrain from his frequent appearances on my Insta stories! Like a lot of my clients, Efrain and I met online through Bumble. He's my favorite person ever, and the best adventure buddy! We love to go scuba diving together and he's my number 1 hype man on hikes (and pretty much everything else I do!)
After I graduated college (with a degree in Photojournalism from UNT, holla!!) I moved to Southern California to work in the motocross industry. I was based in San Clemente, but traveled to tracks all over the country to photograph races. After countless flights and practically living out of the RV, I decided it was time to put some roots down in the 808 state!
