Eric knew for a while that he wanted to propose to Sophie before she turned 23. They planned a trip to Oahu, and he knew that the beach right outside of where they were staying at the Turtle Bay Resort would be the perfect spot. We had it all planned out, where I would be hiding, where he would get down on one knee – one thing we didn’t plan for was the rain. The proposal was set for the day before her birthday, so there was not time to postpone and I told Eric I would be there rain or shine.
If you know Hawaii weather, you know it can be raining one second and sunny the next. Right before our planned meeting time, it started pouring rain! Luckily Sophie saw this as being even more romantic and it truly was the perfect moment. Eric told her to face the ocean so he could take a photo of her, and while she was turned around he got down on one knee. Her reaction was priceless and I was so happy to be the one to capture it. The rain quickly stopped and we got some fun engagement images for these two to share with all of their friends and family back home. Congratulations to Eric & Sophie!
