Hawaii means a lot to Brant and Renate, and I am lucky to have been able to be part of some of their biggest adventures in Hawaii. Back in 2016, I photographed their first family vacation to Hawaii when they were staying at the Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore. About six months later, I got an exciting email from Brant. He was planning to propose to Renate while visiting Hawaii, and he wanted me to photograph it! After the proposal, I joked that they should call me when they started planning their destination wedding. I was filled with so much joy when I got the call from them – they were planning to get married at Turtle Bay, and they wanted me to photograph it! Being a Hawaii destination wedding photographer means that sometimes I only see my clients on their big day. I have quite a few couples from the mainland that I’ve been able to see more than that (and I’ve even been able to document some beautiful growing families when they return to the island) but my experience with Brant and Renate is so special – I got to see things unfold from the beginning! Surrounded by their family, this wonderful couple said “I do” on a beach that is so important to them. Renate’s style is minimalistic, modern and elegant, and everything from her dress to their location choice reflected that. Enjoy my favorite images from the day!
