I love sending my couples a personal questionnaire before their wedding day or portrait session. It helps me get to know them on another level, and allows me to bust out some one liners during the portrait session to get some natural laughs. One of my questions is, “How would you describe your partner? What is your favorite thing about them?” I know that’s a hard questions to answer! Josiah’s response was so dang sweet. He said, “If I truly described all I love, we would have to pay you extra just to take the time to read all of it.” STOP!! So. Cute. When I read that, I was even more excited to meet these two for their Haleiwa elopement! On top of that, they sent me a video about the proposal. When they described how they are best friends, you can bet I was tearing up!
Victoria and Josiah met in high school and became best friends. Josiah said she was so outgoing, and was always cracking jokes and referencing Spongebob or Talledega Nights, personal classics to me! They spent 10 weeks living on Oahu together, so they knew it would be the perfect place to say, “I do.” They traveled all the way from freezing Ohio for their Haleiwa elopement at a lookout over Waimea Bay. The views were stunning, and they were both smiling from ear to ear! After their ceremony, we went down to a gorgeous north shore beach to take advantage of the dramatic winter swell for photos.
