Adventure Elopement in Hawaii | Rachel + Patrick

This couple right here is the definition of adventurous, and untraditional. We hit up my two favorite locations for adventure sessions which was like DREAM DAY for me. They wanted to do things a little different. So they had their first dance at a lookout, before hiking for their vows. It was STUNNING to say the least.

After that we drove over to the location and did a quick outfit change for the hike. I had the honor of officiating their ceremony which was so much fun. I got to know Rachel and Patrick through emails and social media. Meeting them in person was such a joy. The day they planned for their very intimate elopement was a true testament to how much they enjoy each other’s company.

I ask my couples what they want to remember about this season of their lives 20 years from now. They responded, “We want to remember how we chose to see the good in all the craziness occurring around us. We decided all the unfortunate circumstances in our own lives weren’t going to define our story. We chose joy and how our love for each other persevered.”

CAN I GET AN AMEN for that after the year we all had in 2020??

“Let me start off saying that having Chelsea as a part of our day was the greatest decision my husband and I have ever made (besides getting married)! We live on the east coast, so planning an elopement in Hawaii is no easy feat, especially in 2020. Chelsea was there every step of the way to provide help and reassurance, answer any questions we had, and to just be there to calm our nerves. She basically is a photographer/wedding planner/best friend wrapped all up in one person. The day of our wedding Chelsea was an absolute pro: she made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, served as our adventure guide, and even married us at the top of a mountain! Can you ask for more? No, but we got a million times more!

Fast forward to receiving our photo gallery—the editing that Chelsea does is so natural and beautiful, and she has a sheer talent for capturing the most candid, intimate, and special moments. I’ve looked at these photos about a million times in 24 hours.

Besides being the most talented photographer ever, Chelsea is that much more awesome of a human being. She brought such a bright light to an otherwise crazy and dark year, and provided us with a joy that we felt had been stolen from us when our original wedding plans had been cancelled. She is just so positive, cool, funny (I could go on and on)—the type of person you meet and just want to be friends with, and she has that ability to vibe with you in an effortless way. An all around, incredible person who I feel lucky to have gotten to know and had such an epic experience with! Please do yourself a favor and add Chelsea to your wedding team, you absolutely will not regret it!”
