When is the rainy season in Hawaii – and what happens if it rains during your elopement?
Does the idea of rain on your wedding day sound awful? What if I told you it’s quite magical?? Since all of my elopements take place outside, the weather is always a concern for my couples and I totally understand. As much as I hope for sunny days all the time, we are dealing with mother nature and the elements here in Hawaii. If rain on your wedding day is a concern for you, here’s some info about the rainy season in Hawaii… and why you shouldn’t care!
Rainy season: Winter months, November – March. Outside of these dates the weather is known for mostly being sunny and warm, with some “sun showers” that pass by quickly. Sun showers are just that – it’s raining but the sun is out and the rain doesn’t last long.
The weather in Hawaii is also notorious for being unpredictable, not matter which app you choose to look at. It could say it’s going to rain all day and then end up being the most gorgeous day! So I always recommend waiting until it gets closer to your wedding/session date to worry about the weather.
Now for the big the question if you are looking to elope during those months: “What happens if it rains during our elopement?”
I say embrace it. Here’s why – in text and photos!
- It is romantic AF.
Think The Notebook. It’s every romance movie dream, right?? - I make it super fun, because it is!
You are guaranteed to chill vibes and good times when you book with me, and that’s rain or shine! I make it super fun. I get super into it. It’s honestly so fun to photograph in the rain because it’s a whole new vibe! - With rain also comes rainbows.
And it’s epic when they come out for your session!! See photos below 😏 - Pastel skies anyone??
When we are extra lucky, the sky will turn bright pink pastel during the sunset after it rains. It makes my pink lovin’ heart so happy!
Finally, it’s important to remember that no matter what the weather conditions, you are marrying your best friend. This is an amazing moment! And I’m going to be there to hype you up and keep it fun!
