Many elopement ceremonies are carefully planned for months in advance, but did you know that some are pulled together within 1-2 days? Enter Zach and Kaitlin, a couple whose journey from engagement to marriage unfolded in the blink of an eye. Zach proposed on Tuesday and they tied the knot at the same beach on Thursday! As a La Jolla elopement photographer, I had the privilege of capturing the magic of their whirlwind story.
With a last-minute elopement, there’s not much time to overthink things. You go with your gut and embrace the spontaneity. Zach and Kaitlin fully committed to having fun and enjoying every moment of their adventure. Their happiness and excitement were so contagious. They exchanged vows on the sandstone cliffs overlooking the ocean, and true to their spontaneous nature, sealed their vows with a plunge into the sea. It was a fitting finale to their elopement day!
How soon can you get married in San Diego?
In recent years, many couples have opted for more spontaneous and intimate ceremonies rather than traditional large-scale weddings. Couples create more meaningful moments when they elope without the stress of appeasing every guest. Planning a last-minute elopement in California is easy! There is no waiting period once you have your marriage license. Depending on whether you get a public or confidential marriage license, you may need a witness to sign your license. Which I happen to love doing as a photographer! You can read more about marriage licenses in San Diego here.
